The Town Council launched a survey last year asking residents where they felt grant funding should be directed, and one of the top responses was in adult mental health and wellbeing support.
Burntwood Be A Friend and St Anne’s Church will receive £5,000 a year for 3 years from the Town Council to assist them to develop and sustain the project into the future.
Cllr Di Evans, Chair of Community and Partnerships, Burntwood Town Council said:
“Burntwood Town Council is delighted to present BBAF and St Anne’s Church, Chasetown, with a grant to support their joint project delivering weekly walks and drop-in sessions. These activities support residents with their mental health and wellbeing, which we know is unfortunately troubling many.
Councillors concluded that it was such a worthwhile application, and the funding will support this project for the next 3 years. The Town Council wishes them every success in their venture”.
