Lichfield Repair & Share Cafe were recently awarded a grant from the Town Council’s Better Burntwood Fund to support them to continue to run their monthly cafe in Burntwood.

Cllr Di Evans and Cllr Paul Taylor visited the café in January to see the fantastic work that Volunteer Repairers do to help residents mend broken items.

Cllr Di Evans, Chair of Community and Partnerships committee said:

“Cllr Paul Taylor and I were delighted to attend the first Repair and Share Cafe of the year in Burntwood, to see how the advantage of the Burntwood Town Council grant was necessary for the group to remain doing their excellent work. It is a talented and inspiring group who repair items that may otherwise end up in landfill and for a voluntary donation, residents objects have a prolonged lease of life. The grant will help the group continue with their work on the first Saturday of every month in Burntwood.”

 Pam Beale, Co-ordinator for the Lichfield Repair & Share Café said:

“We are very grateful for the grant support from BTC to help cover our running costs.  Our visitors are very generous with donations for repairs, but the grant helps to ensure that we can offer regular sessions.”

The Repair & Share Cafe run on the 1st Saturday of every month from 10am – 1pm at St Joseph and St Theresa RC Church. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
