Burntwood Women’s Institute mark International Day of Friendship

Burntwood WI have decorated Princes Park in Burntwood with a display of hands made by their members to highlight United Nations’ International Day of Friendship on 30 July 2026.

Judy Griffiths, Secretary of Burntwood WI said:

“Today is International Day of Friendship and we thought it would be a lovely way to celebrate that at our local park and invite the community to join us.”

Cllr Sue Woodward, Chair of Burntwood Town Council who attended the display said:

“I’m grateful to Judy and the members of Burntwood WI for inviting me to their International Day of Friendship event. The group has the knack of taking international issues and translating them into local action in our little corner of the world to raise awareness and to bring joy to Prince’s Park via their display. I would urge local residents to pop along and see the display for themselves.”
