Burntwood Town Council Invests in our Community

Over the last 12 months, Burntwood Town Council has invested over £32,000 in grants to support local community groups, charities and projects across the town through it’s Better Burntwood Fund.

Groups who have received support include Burntwood Platinum Boxing, the Active 60s Group, Burntwood Be A Friend, Chasetown FC, Lichfield Repair and Share Café, Chasewater Light Railway and Museum, the Burntwood Lions, Burton and District Mind and the Burntwood Litter Heroes.

Cllr Laura Ennis, Chair of Burntwood Town Council said:

“Burntwood Town Council have always invested in our town and part of the way we do that is through the Better Burntwood Fund. Our grant programme has been established for a number of years now and helps our fantastic local groups in and around the town, who in turn provide support and investment to our residents. It is something for us all to be very proud of.”

Cllr Di Evans, Chair of Community and Partnerships Committee said:

“Burntwood Town Council believes that investing in local groups is a positive way to support residents. There are so many groups supporting the whole community, from babies to older people, and organisers often give their time on a voluntary basis to run them.

This year, funding has been given to larger projects supporting mental health and wellbeing, young people and creative activities through the Creative Burntwood project in partnership with the Lichfield Garrick, as well as grants to young people through BTC’s Student Award in memory of Stephen Sutton MBE, and a number of smaller funds helping to boost groups and allow them to continue to develop successfully.”
