Burntwood Wakes Festival
The much-loved Burntwood Wakes Festival will be returning on Saturday 18th July, 12 – 4pm to Burntwood Leisure Centre.
We can’t wait to welcome residents to this fantastic, free event where a wide range of activities, entertainment, food and more will be available including fairground rides, inflatables, live music, a climbing wall and mobile caving, charity and community stalls, food vendors, market stalls and much more.
Free packed lunches will also be available for children, with thanks to support from The Noel Sweeney Foundation.
Cllr Sue Woodward, Chair of Burntwood Town Council said:
“‘It’s a real pleasure to invite local residents to our Wakes celebration, a free community event that has a long history and yet something new and different every year. It’s a great time to celebrate our town and the arrival of the summer holidays. I look forward to seeing you there.”
Cllr Di Evans, Chair of Community and Partnerships Committee said:
“Burntwood Town Council always aims to ensure this free event can be enjoyed by all ages, so we provide a wide range of events and activities to suit all tastes. These include stage shows such as the Burntwood Community Choir and Young Garrick Burntwood through our partnership work with Lichfield Garrick, a brass band and other musical delights.
There will also be market stalls, food vendors, fairground rides, a dog show, a military display and numerous community groups involved. Through our sponsorship we are also providing free packed lunches for children, so it promises to be a fantastic occasion for Burntwood.”
A huge thank you to our generous sponsors, Lichfield District Council, The Noel Sweeney Foundation and Crown Highways who have supported the event this year.
