A civic service for Burntwood Town Council, its members and partner organisations, was held on Sunday 13^th September at Burntwood Methodist Church. The service was led by Rev Liz Dunning and supported by Churches Together in Burntwood.

Revived after several years, the current Chair on the Town Council said that its return had been welcomed across the town and had been warmly received by numerous voluntary groups in the area who  attended  along members of the Town Council the Leader of Lichfield District Council, Cllr Doug Pullen, its Vice-Chair Cllr Andrew Rushton and County Councillor Robin Hall ,

Cllr Sue Woodward said:

“In a world where there is so much negativity,  it was such a positive event celebrating our community and all those who work hard to make a Better Burntwood – both elected representatives and volunteers –  and it gave us an opportunity to recognise and honour their dedication. I am grateful to everyone who played a part.”

Cllr Woodward has chosen Burntwood Be A Friend as her Chair’s Charity for her civic year and is planning social and fundraising events for this local charity.
