Burntwood Cemetery achieves prestigious silver award
Burntwood Town Council has achieved the silver standard of the ‘Charter for the Bereaved’ for Burntwood Cemetery. Organised by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM), the Charter for the Bereaved award celebrates outstanding achievement in cemetery operation and service standards across the UK.
Moving from bronze to silver in a year is a recognition of excellence in cemetery management, community engagement, and environmental care. It recognises best practices in burial grounds and is judged on high standards of operation.
We are proud to provide a community service that embraces innovation, compassion, and commitment to the public, as well as improving and raising standards, and we thank the ICCM for their support in helping us to consistently improve the Cemetery which is a huge asset to the community.
Cllr Susan Woodward, Chair of Burntwood Town Council said:
“Our cemetery is a place of remembrance, reflection and respect, and it is a privilege to see the quality and care recognised through this award.
This is a fantastic achievement and recognises the dedication and professionalism of everyone involved in maintaining our cemetery.
While we are proud of this award, we remain committed to continually improving our cemetery for the benefit of current and future generations.”
