Better Burntwood Fund 2020-21

Burntwood Town Council is committed to supporting local organisations that provide support to the community

The Town Council wishes to support the good work that people are doing to help themselves in these difficult times. The aim of the Better Burntwood Fund is to provide support to local grass roots activities to help address problems caused by the Covid 19 Emergency.

The Town Council has provided direct funding to the local community through a general grant scheme since 2001. In 2016 it introduced an educational bursary and more recently a targeted household emergency fund. Following a review of the effectiveness of these grants the Town Council has decided to focus these grants in the Better Burntwood Fund. The Fund will continue to support educational and welfare projects and will provide support in several ways:

  • Funding of up to £500 for local groups wishing to provide activities and support for their community
  • Funding of up to £3000 for third sector organisations that provide services to the local community at the early help stage
  • Funding to address emergency household needs
  • Educational bursaries

The grant scheme will be open to applications from 1st August 2020 and close on 30th September 2020. Applications for a Stephen Sutton Bursary need to be submitted by 30th November 2020.
